Gigamon continues rapid revenue growth and market success

Gigamon’s non-stop feature updates for its flagship GigaVUE® Data Access Switch and its uncompromising customer support have helped to drive new sales revenues

Silicon Valley, CA - August 28, 2007 - Since its product launch in May 2005, Gigamon has shipped to over 150 customers, including 90% of the top-tier telecom, cable and wireless carriers and ISP’s in North America, Australia, Japan and Europe. Gigamon is a private company initially funded by six co-Founders and has been profitable for the last six consecutive quarters. Gigamon continues to grow at an outstanding rate with more new customers and more repeat sales from existing customers.

Denny K Miu, CEO of Gigamon, recently commented, “Customers tell us that our
service and support are outstanding, which help them get the most out of the GigaVUE® products. This is not an accident. The six co-Founders of Gigamon and the engineering and field support team that they have built is a unique bunch. They are industry veterans and having spent a big part of their professional career in out-of-band network monitoring, really know what it means to support customers whose day job is to support mission critical networks. As someone once said, quality is not only communicable; it is contagious. To the GigaMonsters, support is not just a feature; it has been their way of life. From the start, we have identified high quality customer support as one of our founding elements, and thanks to our team’s resourcefulness and dedication, is really what enables our company to grow at an exciting but organic pace.”

Another co-Founder of Gigamon, King Won, who is their System Architect and responsible for product support also added, “At Gigamon we understand a great customer experience starts with the purchase of a great product and continues when the product continues to perform well. We understand customer support is not just the responsibility of the support organization but extends throughout the organization. In case of questions or problems our entire team will jump in as needed to make sure they are resolved expeditiously and each customer is happy with their experience. Every single employee at our company is fully committed to providing the best post-sales support to our customers and to make sure that they are happy with our products.”

Arthur Knapp, Senior Project Manager of a major $40B long distance and wireless carrier which has deployed over 100 units of GigaVUE®’s in the last eighteen months, agrees, “The GigaVUE® product delivers as promised and is playing a major role in carriers today. The combination of the product’s small footprint, a major consideration in carrier facilities, remote and easy firmware update process, excellent quality control and outstanding support makes the GigaVUE® a must-have for carriers as well as for enterprise remote monitoring needs.”

Customers are embracing Gigamon’s revolutionary approach to remote, out-of-band data access for network monitoring in order to ensure that they can protect and preserve their precious production bandwidth. With its ability to aggregate traffic from multiple switches without backhauling through the production network, the Gigamon Data Access Switch can customize and deliver complete IP conversations to the specialized monitoring equipment and with its extensive filtering capability, allow for very accurate views of the traffic while not dropping packets and/or oversubscribing the tools.

Furthermore, with recent software feature updates, remote-access to the GigaVUE® is protected by authentication processes that exceed data security compliance requirements. This allows compliance audits to go much smoother since customers now have auditable access control without compromising configuration management and the guarantee that no monitored data is ever backflow into the production network.

“We will continue to fire on all cylinders. Gigamon’s game changing technology combined with best-of-class customer support will continue to fuel our growth and allow us to expand to newer opportunities.” Denny added, “In addition to other awards, Gigamon was selected as InfoWorld’s Startup-to-Watch which together with the positive feedbacks that we have received from our customers, are confirming that we are moving in the right direction. In retrospect, our company was started with a simple and modest idea, which was to provide an overlay data access technology to help customers solve immediate problems. The fact that our product has become a scalable platform, being evolved into an important building block for a best practice, state-of-the-art, out-of-band monitoring infrastructure, has clearly exceeded our goals and expectations.”

Arthur Knapp added, “The GigaMonsters and their outstanding product will continue to grow in acceptance and there is no doubt that they will continue to excel on offering the best technology, service and support to all their customers.”
